Vice President of Technology

A well-financed startup business services company is looking for a rockstar VP of Technology.

Based in Evanston, we blend high-tech and high-touch to deliver amazing results for our clients.

The VP Technology will lead the creation, development, integration, and ongoing improvement of all things technical for the company. These include the IT platform on which the company operates, applications, client extranet, website, financial systems, and hardware/telecom.

This is an incredible opportunity for a VP Technology to work with a seasoned, successful CEO with a proven business-model in a $20 billion industry.

Amongst other areas, the VP Technology will:

... Assess and integrate existing technologies (in our category, there are literally hundreds available)
... Where they don’t exist, develop tools and software from scratch with an eye towards development time, flexibility, and user interface
... Recruit and lead a small team of software developers
... Build metrics scoreboards by which the organization measures itself
... Develop tools to assimilate data from thousands of data sources and normalize data; use search tools to access data rapidly
... Work closely with our VP Operations to spec and create productivity tools/software that drive efficiency for our employees across key business processes
... Be a “hands-on” player/coach

Requirements

... Experience working in both startups and established scale ($50M+ revenues) businesses
... Experience in at least one relevant industry: consulting, information services, customer service, business process outsourcing, recruiting, staffing, IT services
... Designed system to handle moderate transaction volume e.g. in the thousands per year
... Outstanding management and leadership skills; with a hands-on style appropriate for a startup company
... Data mining experience, managing unstructured data input from many online sources
Integrates existing technologies and doesn’t feel compelled to invent it from scratch
... Appreciates and understands how to integrate high-tech and high-touch approach
... Enjoys solving client issues, not inventing technology for technology’s sake
... Treats internal colleagues as customers
... Understands 2.0 and social networking trends
... Has recruited and led high-performance team of 10+ engineers
... Speaks “business”
